Carmengloria Morales
I hate Ovals #1
Carmengloria Morales was born in Santiago, Chile on June 28, 1942. She has
lived in Rome and Milan, Italy since 1953. From 1979-1999 Morales visited
New York where she painted and met many artists. During her first visit to
the US she began a strong friendship with Michael Goldberg, which was
followed by her invitation to Italy, initiating the annual summer visits
of Michael and Lynn Umlauf. Morales began painting in 1961, her first
one-person show was in Rome in 1965. She has had solo shows in France,
Germany, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland and the US. Morales has been included
in important group shows including Geplante Malerei, Westfalischer
Kunstverein, Münster 1974; Malerei, Documenta 6, Kassel 1977; Radical
painting, Williamstown College Museum of Art, Williamstown, MA 1984; Karo
Dame, Aargauer Kunsthaus Aarau 1995; Unique Act, Dublin City Gallery The
Hugh Lane, Dublin 2008. Morales lives in Sermugnano, Italy.
