BAU Institute Edition 2009 is a portfolio of 25 archival pigment prints created by BAU Institute Fellows and guest artists. It is printed with archival inks on 11x17” Hahnemuhle cotton rag paper. This inaugural collection honors the artist Michael Goldberg (1924-2007), a dear friend and important member of the New York School of painting, who lived and worked in Italy for many years. Master Printer Katy Martin is editioning and printing the portfolios.

Lynda Benglis was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1941. She received her BFA from Newcomb College in 1964. This year a major retrospective starting at the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven will travel to the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, Museum Le Consortium, Dijon and the Museum of Art, RISD, Rhode Island. Benglis has had recent solo shows at the Cheim & Read Gallery, NY; The Bass Museum of Art, Miami; Toomey-Tourell Gallery, San Francisco; Kappatos Gallery, Athens, Greece; the Contemporary Art Gallery, Ahmedabad, India, and she has been included in group shows at the Kunsthalle Wien, Austria; PS1, Queens, NY; the Centro Internazionale Mostre, Rome; Kunsternes Hus, Oslo, Norway, the Centre George Pompidou, Paris, and the Valencia Biennial. Extensive public collections include the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, NY; the Guggenheim; MoMA; LACMA, the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, Australia; SFMoMA; the Walker in Minneapolis and the Whitney, NY.
