Marthe Keller

Marthe Keller was born in New York and grew up in Rome. She has exhibited
internationally since 1974 and has had over 20 one-person exhibitions.
Keller teaches at Hunter College. Her awards include Fellowships from the
NEA, NYFA and the MacDowell Colony. Her work is in public collections
including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the British Museum, the Museum
of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum.
Keller is currently in the group show "Dialoghi D'Accanto - Arte a Palazzo
Gatti", in Viterbo Italy. Her exhibition cycle, "Corso Ricorso", travels
in May 2009 to St Stephenís Cultural Center Foundation, Rome, Italy and in
July to GB Kunst, Galerie Palais Walderdorff, Trier, Germany.
Marthe lives in New York and returns to Italy annually to paint and direct
the BAU Institute Otranto Residency. She relates to language and music,
her paintings stroked with many brushes celebrating the multiple rhythms
of life through imprint, collage and chance.
