BAU Institute Edition 2009 is a portfolio of 25 archival pigment prints created by BAU Institute Fellows and guest artists. It is printed with archival inks on 11x17” Hahnemuhle cotton rag paper. This inaugural collection honors the artist Michael Goldberg (1924-2007), a dear friend and important member of the New York School of painting, who lived and worked in Italy for many years. Master Printer Katy Martin is editioning and printing the portfolios.

Suejin Jo, Korean born abstract painter based in New York, studied with Stamos and Vytlacil at the Art Students League. She won a McDowell grant to study-travel in Europe for a year juried by Richard Pousette Dart and Romare Bearden. She paints with a unique medium of oil and dry pigment to create picture surfaces like old fresco paintings. Her most recent solo show was at the Broome Street Gallery as a result of winning ”Jacob and Gwendolyn Lawrence Solo Exhibition Award 2008” sponsored by the NY Artists Equity Association and juried by DC Moore Gallery. She had a solo show at MANIF Art Fair in Seoul 2008. Her paintings are currently in the “Art for Embassies” program. Suejin Jo is represented by Tria Gallery in Chelsea NY. www.suejinjo.com
