BAU Institute Edition 2009 is a portfolio of 25 archival pigment prints created by BAU Institute Fellows and guest artists. It is printed with archival inks on 11x17” Hahnemuhle cotton rag paper. This inaugural collection honors the artist Michael Goldberg (1924-2007), a dear friend and important member of the New York School of painting, who lived and worked in Italy for many years. Master Printer Katy Martin is editioning and printing the portfolios.

Susan Smith
Chinese Takeout

Susan Smith has been using “found" containers and "found" papers from the street in her collage work since 1985. This archival pigment print is taken from one of her container collages, and adapted in response to the printing process and to the format of the print. In 2008, Susan Smith exhibited her collages at Bjorn Ressle Gallery, New York City in the"Winter Salon - Works on Paper” and her paintings at the American Academy of Arts and Letters "Honors and Awards Exhibition.” She has been exhibiting her work in New York, the U.S. and Europe since 1980.
